Of course bottle-aged Vintage is the most famous style, but let’s not forget the more affordable fresh white Ports and wood-aged styles like Tawny, Crusted and LBV. We also want to show the versatility of this wine. Yes, port is great with Stilton, but we will also show you some other great food combinations such as chocolate!

Port is one of the oldest styles of wines and has been shipped to London for more than 300 years. We will help you discover its rich history, astonishing terraced vineyards and unique production process. You will learn how to taste Port like an expert, identify classic Port styles and assess quality.

The styles are very diverse and far more versatile with food than you may think. You will learn how to taste Port, identify classic styles, assess quality and find out the best time to drink it. You’ll also be given food and Port matching tips from cheeses, hammon, puddings and chocolate.

Nick’s Level 1 course was outstanding!

Although many of us had different levels of knowledge and experience with wine, we all enjoyed participating in the course and felt that we learned a great deal of content and confidence through Nick’s instruction. Nick’s considerable wine making knowledge and experience as well as his practical guidance helped us to work through evaluating various aspects of each wine.

At the end of the course, we all agreed that the course was excellent, Nick was a fantastic instructor, and that we looked forward to Level 2!
