Established in 1993, The London Wine Academy is one of the UK's oldest independent wine schools. Our wine courses make wine easier to understand and more enjoyable to explore, combining clear teaching, guided blind tasting and thoughtfully paired food in a way that feels welcoming, engaging and confidence-building.

Wine Education That's Personal, Practical and Enjoyable
The London Wine Academy has been teaching people about wine since 1993. We're independent, we're not exam-focused, and we don't do stuffy. What we do is run properly good wine courses — led by experienced tutors who know how to make a room feel welcome from the first pour.
Our courses draw on years of Master of Wine study and hands-on trade experience. Every class is built to help you actually understand what's in your glass, not just nod along. Whether you're a complete beginner or you've been drinking wine for years and want to know more, there's a course here for you.
All courses include food. From a two-course lunch to a five-course fine dining menu, because wine is always better with something to eat.

We host courses at carefully chosen venues across London, with many taking place in Mayfair and St James’s. The Punch Bowl in Mayfair is one of our regular venues — recently named Best Destination Pub 2025 — and we also work with a range of other carefully selected settings, from stylish central London spaces to five-star hotels, depending on the course and experience.
