Life is too short to deprive yourself of a few innocent pleasures – especially when it comes to a glass or two!

The Ongoing Health Debate Around Wine

Despite sadistic statisticians who are fond of gathering evidence that drink is bad for you and urging you to stay dry for at least two days a week, we were heartened to hear of the new diet fad to eat purple and de-tox on clean and natural food. Assuming that included is a glass or two of purplish Burgundy, we raised our glasses for a toast, only for it to be pointed out that it was more likely to mean beetroot, kale or a shrivelled radicchio.

Taking advice on drinking is a bit like being on a roller coaster; going in one direction one minute followed by the complete opposite the next, wildly different opinions and twists at every turn.

The Health Case for Moderate Wine Drinking

However, it is heartening to remember that many health experts advise that a glass or two of red wine a day are almost certainly good for you. Revealing benefits from preventing type 2 diabetes to managing cholesterol, lowering the risk of heart disease and promoting longevity.

Drinking Less, But Drinking Better

Undoubtedly a moderate approach makes much more sense so we will be drinking less but better.

At the London Wine Academy we have a saying borrowed from Oscar Wilde-everything in moderation especially moderation.
